Guidance Session on Manashakti
“A calm mind brings inner strength and self-confidence.” – Dalai Lama
A special session was organised at Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium Secondary Section on 29th July 2025 for Standard VIII students to equip them with effective study strategies and build a strong foundation in mental discipline. It was conducted by Manashakti Kendra, Lonavala, an institution renowned for its work in mental science and personality development. The resource person was Smt. Deepali.
The session began with an activity where students wrote down the percentage they aimed to achieve by year-end, instilling direction, commitment, and accountability. They were advised to start their daily study with a short prayer, fix a time and place for learning, and classify subjects into easy and difficult. Difficult topics were to be tackled using the Buddhivardhan method to improve understanding and memory.
Practical study techniques, simple brain exercises, and gratitude practices were shared. Students were also encouraged to respect parents daily and show reverence to teachers on special days. An overview of Manashakti Kendra’s workshops and camps was given, and each student received a booklet titled Prayatna Rahasya with useful study methods.
Key takeaways included:
- Memory: Map thoughts, use visuals, revise before sleep, and summarise learning.
- Focus: Play soft instrumental music, involve family in learning, and engage all brain zones.
- Self-discipline: Track daily study habits, respect, willpower, and noble behaviour.
The session concluded with Headmistress Smt. Smita Biwalkar thanking Smt. Deepali and the Manashakti team. Students left motivated and better equipped for their academic journey.
