On August 1, 2024, Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School observed the 104th death anniversary of the esteemed Indian freedom fighter, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. The commemorative event commenced with the garlanding of Lokmanya Tilak’s portrait by our Headmistress, Mrs. Smita Biwalkar. Following this, an insightful and inspirational speech was delivered by our teacher, Mrs. Anuradha Phatak. She traced the journey of the great patriot and reminded us to live by the values and ideals that Lokmanya Tilak exemplified through his life and work.
The program also featured a powada, presented by the school choir consisting of students from the 5th to 7th standards. They were trained by our music teacher, Mrs. Vrushali Virkar.
The culmination of the event was the prize distribution ceremony for the story writing and essay writing competitions organised to mark the occasion. Our Supervisor, Mrs. Vasundhara Pandey, announced the winners of the competition. Our Headmistress, Mrs. Smita Biwalkar, awarded the prizes to the deserving students.
On this day, let’s pledge to continue to walk on the path of values and ideals set forth by Lokmanya Tilak.
