Annual Function celebrated with the theme Celebrating India’s Dance Heritage

Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School, Secondary Section, celebrated its Annual Function for the academic year 2025–2026 on Tuesday, 16th December 2025, in a joyful and memorable manner, with the theme Celebrating India’s Dance Heritage.

The occasion was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Lieutenant Colonel Bhushan Sharad Borse, an alumnus of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School; the Honourable Treasurer of the parent body, the Parle Tilak Association, Shri B. S. Dhurandhar; the Headmistress of the Secondary Section, Mrs. Smita Biwalkar; and the Headmistress of the Primary Section, Mrs. Sunita Bhagwat. Their esteemed presence added dignity to the celebration and served as a source of inspiration and encouragement to the students and staff alike.

The programme was attended by grandparents, parents, teachers, students, former staff members, special invitees, and distinguished guests, and was conducted in a cordial and celebratory ambience.

The function commenced with the formal proceedings of the day, which included the welcome address delivered by the Headmistress, the presentation of the Annual Report highlighting the school’s academic and co-curricular achievements, and the Sports Report showcasing students’ accomplishments in various sporting events.

In his address, the esteemed Chief Guest, Lieutenant Colonel Bhushan Sharad Borse, shared his inspiring life journey and motivated the students to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to their goals. His words left a lasting impression on the audience, particularly on the students.

The prize distribution ceremony was the much-awaited segment of the programme, during which students were honoured for their achievements in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities. The awards for Best House and Best Commander were also announced. This year, the Best House award was won by Kusumagraj House, while the Best Commander award was conferred upon Sharvari Agre.

In recognition of our teacher’s outstanding achievement, Dr. Vidnyapana Gokarnakar, was honoured for receiving the Best Script Writer award at the State Level. The drama scripted by her secured the Second Prize at the State Level. The production was directed by Master Hrishikesh Desai, an ex-student of the school, who has been guiding and supporting the school’s drama activities for the past three years with his valuable insights and creative direction. He too was felicitated on this occasion.

This was followed by a formal vote of thanks, during which gratitude was expressed to the management, dignitaries, teachers, parents, and all those who contributed to the successful organisation of the programme.

The cultural programme commenced with a soulful Saraswati Vandana, followed by a graceful Ganpati dance. The programme featured a wide range of performances, including musical and instrumental presentations, an award-winning science-based drama, a mono-acting performance, and energetic dance items presented by the students. The folk dance segment beautifully showcased the cultural diversity of India through performances representing different states. A group presentation of Mile Sur Mera Tumhara highlighted the spirit of unity in diversity.

The cultural celebrations were concluded with special performances by the students of Std. X, which proved to be a memorable highlight of the evening, marking their final appearance on the Annual Function stage.

The Annual Function concluded on a note of gratitude and celebration, leaving behind memories of shared pride, youthful talent, and collective effort.
