We extend our heartiest congratulations to Dr. Vidnyapana Shreehari Gokarnakar, our multi-faceted teacher, on successfully obtaining a Ph.D. in Sanskrit. This remarkable achievement is a testament to her unwavering commitment to the pursuit of knowledge.
In addition to the Ph.D. in Sanskrit, Vidnyapana teacher holds an impressive list of qualifications, including a B.A. and B.Ed. in Sanskrit from Mumbai University, a Sanskrit Visharad from Pune University, an M.A. in Sanskrit from Pune University, an M.Ed. from Mumbai University, a PGDME, and SET in Education.
The teacher’s dissertation focused on the topic: ‘The Theory of Paramanu with Special Reference to the Vaisesika System.’ This scholarly work delved into the concept of Paramanu as described by Maharshi Kanad around the 5th Century BC. The study involved meticulously examining the original commentaries of Vaisesikas and conducting thorough comparative analyses with other relevant disciplines, aiming to advance scientific understanding. This interdisciplinary study provided an in-depth structural and functional analysis of Paramanu as presented in ancient Indian sciences documented in Sanskrit.
