HindustanTimes MCCA Best School Cricketers Award.

The top performers of the last season’s U-16 Harris Shield, the U-14 Giles Shield and the Late Manoramabai Apte Trophy U-16 tournament for girls were recognised at the 2023 HindustanTimes MCCA Best School Cricketers Award. The above inter-school events are organised by the Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA).This prestigious event
was held in Mumbai on 30th August, 2023, was graced by Shri Dilip Vengsarkar as the Chief Guest.

Raza Mirza, a student of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School has been honoured as
as one of the HT MSSA Best Cricketers 2023 for the boys under-16 category,
at this award function. In a post-award session interview, he shared that his goal for the last season of the Harris Shield was to ensure he did not waste his wicket. He stated, “My aim was to remain at the crease and score runs.” Raza delivered an impressive performance, amassing 423 runs from five innings, with an average of 105.75.

His exceptional performance included three half-centuries and a century, with an unbeaten score of 203 against Vasant Vihar. Raza Mirza is indeed proud of achieving the coveted milestone of scoring a double century.

Alongside his batting skills, he also stands out as a talented wicketkeeper. Drawing inspiration from stalwarts such as Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, Raza particularly enjoys playing the cover drive.

Eleanor Roosevelt has rightly stated, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

Raza’s aspirations are crystal clear – He hopes to continue representing Mumbai in different matches and give his best. He wishes to win many more titles and ultimately play for India.
