Lecture on Effective Communication

“Communication is the bridge between confusion and clarity. When we express well, we connect well.”

A lecture on Effective Communication was organised by the Interact Club of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya (English Medium). The session was conducted by Mr Vedant Bajaria, an experienced communicator and youth mentor. The programme commenced with a warm introduction delivered by Miss Asmi Shetiya, President of the Interact Club.

Mr Bajaria conducted several interactive activities that kept the students engaged throughout the session. He explained the true meaning of effective communication, that is, conveying one’s message clearly, confidently and respectfully. He emphasised the importance of choosing appropriate words and using ‘I’ statements to express feelings without attributing blame. He also highlighted the significant role of tone of voice, including pitch, pace and volume, in shaping the meaning of any message.

Students learned the importance of active listening, empathy and appropriate body language such as eye contact, posture and facial expressions. He further discussed strategies to manage strong emotions, differentiate between assertiveness and aggression and resolve conflicts through compromise. The session concluded with guidelines on digital communication and maintaining proper etiquette while texting or using social media.

The lecture concluded with an enthusiastic question–answer session, making the programme highly informative and impactful for all attendees.
