Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School Registered a Winning Start in the Giles Shield Tournament
One of Mumbai’s oldest and most prestigious school cricket tournaments, the Giles Shield, organised by the Mumbai School Sports Association, witnessed an exciting Elite Group match in which Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School (Secondary Section) registered a commendable victory in their very first outing against R.R. Foundation School, Mulund, by securing a first-innings lead.
The match was played on 29th and 30th December 2025 at the Vengsarkar Academy, Mahul, Chembur.
Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School was put in to bat first and a strong total of 327 runs was posted. The innings was anchored by an outstanding knock of 135 runs by Swaroop Raut (Std VII-D). Valuable contributions were also made by Atharva Parab (Std VIII-D), who scored 51 runs, and Devraj Kamthe (Std VIII-C), who added 40 runs.
In reply, R.R. Foundation School was bowled out for 121 runs in their first innings. In the second innings, they managed to score 46 runs for the loss of one wicket.
Across both innings, an impressive bowling performance was delivered by Devraj Kamthe (Std VIII-C), who claimed 8 wickets, while Nakul Salunkhe (Std VII-D) supported well with 2 wickets.
On the basis of the first-innings lead, Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School was declared victorious.
