Report on Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti Celebration

On 2nd October 2025, Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium Secondary Section celebrated the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri with great respect and enthusiasm.

The programme began with Headmistress Smita Biwalkar garlanding the portraits of both leaders and offering a floral tribute to their memory. After this, Ms. Khushi Kapadia, teacher, addressed the students. She spoke warmly about Gandhiji’s belief in truth and non-violence and his leadership in the freedom struggle, as well as Shastri ji’s humility, integrity, and his immortal slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.’ Her words inspired students to live by the values of simplicity, service, and sacrifice.

This was followed by a soulful rendition of the song ‘Sabarmati Ke Sant Tune Kar Diya Kamaal.’ The performance was presented by:

They were accompanied by Saanvi Phatak (8th C) on the Harmonium, Rudra Sawant (5th A) on the Tabla, and Aradhya Amkar (5th B) on the Khanjiri. The students were trained by Vrushali Virkar teacher. The performance created a patriotic atmosphere and was deeply appreciated by everyone present.

The celebration served as a reminder that the best way to honour Gandhiji and Shastri ji is to follow their values of truth, simplicity, and service. It left an inspiring and lasting impact on the students.
