Report on the 150th Anniversary of Vande Mataram
Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium Secondary Section conducted a special commemorative assembly to mark the 150th anniversary of the iconic patriotic song Vande Mataram.
Headmistress Mrs Smita Biwalkar opened the programme with an insightful address, highlighting the profound significance of the day and the song’s unifying role during India’s arduous freedom struggle. This was followed by a brief yet thoughtful reflection by Mrs Vinitha Nair, who emphasised the song’s historic, cultural and inspirational legacy as a powerful call for unity, sacrifice and unwavering devotion to the Motherland.
To honour this milestone, Mrs Vrushali Virkar delivered a soulful and stirring rendition of Vande Mataram, enabling students to experience its lyrical beauty and emotional depth. The moving performance inspired all present to uphold values of responsibility, sincerity and national unity.
