Self Defence Workshop – International Women’s Day
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a self defence workshop was organised for the girls of Std. VIII and Std. IX at Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School Secondary Section. The session was conducted by Mr. Arvind Chavan.
The objective of the session was to create awareness about personal safety and to equip the students with basic self defence skills that could help them respond confidently in challenging situations.
During the workshop, several practical self defence techniques were demonstrated by Mr. Chavan. The importance of awareness, confidence and presence of mind in difficult situations was also explained. He demonstrated the use of pressure points on the wrist and simple grip-release techniques that can help in protecting oneself. The students carefully observed the demonstrations and were later given the opportunity to practise the techniques under his guidance.
The session was informative and engaging and helped the students understand the importance of self defence and personal safety.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Headmistress, Mrs. Smita Biwalkar. Participation certificates were distributed to the girls in appreciation of their involvement in the workshop.
