The Independence Day celebration at Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School (Secondary Section)

The Independence Day celebration at Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School (Secondary Section) was marked by a series of patriotic activities reflecting a festive spirit. The event began with the ceremonial flag hoisting by our Headmistress, Madam Smita Biwalkar, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem which instilled a sense of pride and patriotism among all present. This was followed by the chanting of slogans as directed by our P.T. Instructor, Mr. Paresh Ipte. Chief Coordinator of the Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Association, Madam Mrs. Janhavi Khandekar, honoured us with her presence on this auspicious day.

The programme was compered beautifully by our teacher, Mrs. Kavita Kapoor. An impactful and impressive speech was delivered by our teacher, Mrs. Vinitha Nair, who eloquently emphasised the importance of upholding constitutional values. The speech concluded with a call to action, urging everyone to pledge to remember their fundamental duties, work tirelessly for a stronger and more prosperous India.

Following the speech, a melodious and soulful patriotic group song was performed, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the day. The school choir, comprising students from classes 5 to 8, was trained by our teacher, Mrs. Vrushali Virkar. The song ‘Aao Bacho Tumhe Dikhaye’ was met with enthusiasm by both participants and all present.

Prizes were distributed for various competitions held earlier. Chief Coordinator of the Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Association, Mrs. Janhavi Khandekar, graciously presented prizes for the Darpan Quiz and Summer Diaries, both competitions organised by PTVA’s Newsletter Darpan.

Our students had participated in the PTVA Inter School Theme-Based Wall Painting Competition, organised on the 12th and 13th of August 2024 at Paranjape Vidyalaya, Andheri and our students bagged the First Prize for the theme ‘Plastic Free India.’ The prize was awarded to participants Miss Adwita Talekar, Miss Ananya Khopatkar, Miss Sharvari Agre, and Miss Aashni Kadam from class VIII B. They were guided by Art Teacher, Ms. Bina Godambe. The students were felicitated by Madam Janhavi Khandekar.

The Class Decoration and Cleanest Class Competition was organised on 14th August . The announcement of the first two prizes for each standard by Deputy Headmistress, Madam Yamini Dalvi, added to the celebrations and excitement. Madam Yamini Dalvi praised the students not only for their creativity but also for the organised and disciplined approach with which the activity was carried out.

The prizes for the drawing competition were announced by teacher, Ms. Beena Godambe and presented by Headmistress, Madam Smita Biwalkar and Madam Mrs. Janhavi Khandekar.

The event concluded with the distribution of sweets, leaving the students, teachers and all the staff members with a renewed sense of national pride.
