Workshop on Fire Safety Awareness at PTV English Medium School (Secondary Section)
A fire safety awareness workshop was organised on 3rd July 2025 at Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School as part of the school’s focus on experiential and value-based learning. The programme was commenced with a warm welcome and the introduction of the chief guests by the respected Headmistress, Smt. Smita Biwalkar Madam.
Students of Standard VIII were informed about essential safety measures to be followed during fire emergencies—both at home and in the community. Through real-life examples and visual explanations, their understanding was deepened and connected to real-world situations.
Valuable insights were shared by Mr. Mangesh Sonawane, a Central Officer, and Mr. Vikash Todkari, a dedicated fire brigade officer. They elaborated on the duties of fire officers, which extend beyond firefighting to include rescue operations during stampedes, gas leaks, and other emergencies. The working and importance of fire extinguishers were also clearly explained.
The session was interactive, with students participating actively in the discussion and showing keen interest throughout. It turned out to be an enriching and reflective experience that strengthened both awareness and sensitivity.
By the end of the session, the students realised that
“Fire safety is not just about escaping danger—it is about being prepared, staying calm, and helping others stay safe.”
This valuable learning experience encouraged students to think responsibly and act wisely during unforeseen situations.
