77th Independence Day was celebrated with great fervour, enthusiasm and patriotism in PTV English Medium Secondary Section
“नमामि भारतमातरम् ।
स्फूर्तिदां, कीर्तिदां, यशोदाम् ।
वन्दे मातरम् ।
वन्दे भारतमातरम् ।”
The 77th Independence Day was celebrated with great fervour, enthusiasm and patriotism. We remembered, with tears of gratitude, the sung and unsung heroes of our freedom struggle.
The program began with the hoisting of the National Flag by our Headmistress, Mrs. Smita Biwalkar.
As we saluted our national flag on receiving the flag salutation command from our teacher Mr. Paresh Ipte, we also reflected and remembered our responsibility towards upholding the values and ideals of our great nation.
In her motivational speech, our teacher, Mrs. Anuradha Phatak, reminded the students about the need to be sensitive and aware of how important the youth are as a resource to make this country grow from strength to strength. She urged the students to be proactive citizens with a well-informed voice and a balanced opinion on things that matter. She reminded us that as young Indians, we have immense power to not only cherish our Independence but also nurture it in all walks of life.
This was followed by a beautiful speech in Hindi by our student from VIII C, Miss Shubra Parab.
The school choir, trained beautifully by our Music teacher, Mrs. Vrushali Virkar, presented a patriotic song titled ‘झनकारो झनकारो…’ A melodious rendition!
To commemorate this special occasion of our 77th Independence Day, a Drawing Competition was organized. The students were felicitated by our Headmistress. Also present to congratulate the students were our Deputy Headmistress, Mrs. Yamini Dalvi, and our Supervisor, Mrs. Vasundhara Pandey.
A board decoration competition was organized on 14th August on the occasion of our 77th Independence Day. The classes that had put up the most impressive concepts received a special mention.
The inspirational board work on the theme ‘मेरी माटी-मेरा देश’ was designed by our Art Teacher Ms. Beena Godambe.
Sweets were distributed to the students.
Students were once again reminded that as we continue our journey onwards and upwards, the mantra ‘Nation First, Always First’ should propel us forward.
