Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign & 150 Years of Vande Mataram

As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and the commemoration of 150 Years of Vande Mataram, the History Department organised a special Tiranga & Vande Mataram Exhibition on 14th August 2026, on the eve of the 80th Independence Day.

 

The exhibition was inaugurated by our Headmistress, Mrs. Smita Biwalkar. It was planned and organised by the History Department with the active contribution of all the History teachers.

 

The Class VIII History teachers curated the central display highlighting the evolution, significance and symbolism of the National Flag and the 150-year journey of Vande Mataram. Audio-visual elements further enriched the learning experience, enabling students to listen to the song while exploring the exhibits.

 

A panel discussion on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, moderated by Mrs. Anuradha Phatak and featuring five students, sensitively highlighted the suffering, resilience and sacrifices associated with Partition.

 

A moving monologue scripted by our Supervisor, Mrs. Vinitha Nair, and delivered by our student, Ruturaj More, helped students understand the human dimension of this significant historical event.

 

Selected students were trained as exhibition guides and conducted peer walkthroughs, explaining the displays and encouraging active participation. The student artists and exhibition guides were from Standard  IX and X. They were trained and supported by teachers Mrs. Radhika Dalal and Mrs. Sonia Mullick.

 

The visual presentation of the exhibition was creatively designed by Art Teachers Mrs. Geetanjali Mahale and Mr. Vithal Chavan, who also planned the tricolour-themed decorations, patriotic displays and inspirational quotes across the school premises.

 

A PowerPoint presentation prepared by teachers Miss Nikita Singh and Miss Khushi Kapadia further enriched students’ understanding of the history and significance of the Tiranga and Vande Mataram.

 

The exhibition provided an engaging and experiential learning opportunity, enabling students to connect with India’s history, honour the sacrifices of the freedom struggle and appreciate the values of unity, patriotism, remembrance and responsible citizenship.
