Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School (Secondary Section) Independence Day Celebration Report
“जननी जन्मभूमिश्च स्वर्गादपि गरीयसी”
(Mother and motherland are superior even to heaven)
The 79th Independence Day of our beloved nation, India, was celebrated with great pride and patriotic fervour at Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School (Secondary Section). The celebration was graced by Headmistress Mrs. Smita Biwalkar, Deputy Headmistress Mrs. Yamini Dalvi, Supervisor Mrs. Vasundhara Pandey, teachers, and students.
The programme compered by our teacher, Mrs. Prachi Kawle, began with a solemn reflection on the sacrifices of the nation’s freedom fighters and the progress made since attaining Poorna Swaraj. Our Physical Education teacher invited Headmistress Mrs. Smita Biwalkar to hoist the National Flag, followed by Physical Education teacher Mr. Paresh Ipte giving the clarion call of Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai. The National Anthem was sung in unison, filling the atmosphere with unity and pride.
The celebrations continued with an energetic parade by the MCC students, followed by a mass physical drill by the students of Std. VIII, symbolising coordination, discipline, and teamwork. Mrs. Anuradha Phatak, our teacher addressed the gathering, delivering an impressive speech on the role of citizens and youth in building a visionary India with a strong global presence.
Music added a vibrant note to the occasion with the group song Utha Hai Toofan sung by students under the guidance of Music Teacher Mrs. Vrushali Virkar.

Creativity and patriotism were further highlighted through the Independence Day Drawing Competition for students of Std. V to X. The winners were announced by Art Teacher Mrs. Beena Godambe, and prizes were distributed by Headmistress Mrs. Smita Biwalkar and Deputy Headmistress Mrs. Yamini Dalvi. Prizes for various events, including the Board Decoration and Cleanliness Drive, were also announced by the Headmistress. The beautiful board work was prepared by our Art Teacher, Ms. Beena Godambe.
The programme concluded on a high note with Mrs. Vrushali Virkar singing Janani Janmabhoomi, leaving the audience inspired to uphold the values of freedom in thought, word, and deed.
