Felicitation Function – India Week Competitions 2025

Every year, during the month of August, PTVA’s Sathaye College (Autonomous), Department of Ancient Indian Culture & Archaeology, organises India Week to pay tribute to the diverse and vibrant culture of India. This year’s competitions saw participation from 20+ schools stretching from Bandra to Borivali, with over 100 stories and 300 posters submitted on themes such as India and its Art Culture, Warli Tribal Stories, Heritage Sites of Mumbai and Mythical Inspirations.

The Felicitation Function was organised to honour the prize winners. The programme began with a warm welcome followed by an insightful talk by Mr. Shardul Bajikar, the Chief Guest, a noted naturalist, public speaker, and publisher, who shared his knowledge on the evolution of plants and his research in the field. His enriching address inspired the young students and highlighted the importance of linking science with culture.

The function was graced by Mrs. Radha Sabnis, Head of the Archaeology Department and Mrs. Anuradha Ramjoshi, Vice Principal of Sathaye College, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest after his address. A special mention and thanks were also offered to the panel of judges for their valuable role in assessing the large number of entries.

The event then moved into the much-awaited Prize Distribution Ceremony. Among the proud winners were students of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium Secondary Section, who brought laurels to the school with their outstanding performance:

* 1st Prize – Poster Making Competition: Tanashree C. Patil (Std. VI)

* 2nd Prize – Story Writing Competition: Shrisha Rushikesh Pawar (Std. VII)

* Consolation Prize – Poster Making Competition: Bhakti Rajesh Mayekar (Std. X)

* 4th Prize – Story Writing Competition: Alisha Prashant Ovalekar (Std. X)

Along with the students of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya, students from other participating schools were also felicitated for their remarkable contributions and creativity.

The Vice Principal of Sathaye College congratulated all participants and winners for their creativity, dedication, and enthusiasm. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving the audience motivated to celebrate and preserve India’s cultural richness through such meaningful initiatives.
