First Aid Workshop for Students of Std IX

“First aid is the first step towards saving a life.”

A First Aid Workshop was conducted for the students of Std IX on Thursday, 12th March and Friday, 13th March. The workshop aimed to create awareness about essential first aid measures to be taken in case of injuries.

The programme was organised by the Red Cross Society and held in the school hall of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School (SSC). The session was conducted by Dr Swati Kale, who explained various first aid techniques in a simple and effective manner.

On the first day, students were introduced to the basics of first aid and human anatomy. They were given detailed information about different types of injuries such as burns and fractures, along with the appropriate first aid responses.

On the second day, students applied their knowledge through practical activities. Each student was provided with a bandage and guided to practise tying it correctly. They learnt how to apply bandages in cases of wrist, jaw and foot fractures, as well as how to manage bleeding from the palms and head.

The workshop was highly informative and engaging. It helped students develop essential life-saving skills and boosted their confidence in handling emergency situations. At the end of the workshop, certificates were distributed to the participants, recognising them as trained first aiders.
