An interactive session on Digital Art and Career Opportunities was conducted on 26th July 2024 by the visual artist and illustrator Miss Vaishnavi Mahimkar, an alumna of our school. The event commenced with a warm welcome from our Headmistress, Mrs. Smita Biwalkar, who presented Vaishnavi with a bouquet of flowers.

Sakhi Telang from Class X B introduced Vaishnavi Mahimkar, highlighting her impressive educational background from Sir J.J. School of Art and her numerous achievements in the art world. Following this introduction, Vaishnavi began her interactive session, which was attended by the students of Class 9.

Vaishnavi Mahimkar shared an insightful presentation on the vast opportunities within the field of digital art. She discussed various aspects, including graphic design, web design, motion graphics, illustration, digital painting, and animation, among others. Her session was not only informative but also inspiring.

The highlight of the event was the Q&A session, where students eagerly engaged with Vaishnavi, asking a variety of questions about digital art techniques, career paths, and the skills required to succeed in this creative field. Vaishnavi’s responses were comprehensive and encouraging, providing the students with valuable guidance and motivation.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Sannidhi Nair from Class X B, who expressed gratitude to Vaishnavi Mahimkar for her time and for sharing her knowledge and experiences with the students. Our Deputy Headmistress, Mrs. Yamini Dalvi, presented a memento to Vaishnavi.

Overall, the session was highly interactive and interesting, leaving a lasting impact on the students and sparking a keen interest in the field of digital art.

Teaching Microsoft PowerPoint

Teaching Microsoft PowerPoint to 6th grade students helps them create professional and eye-catching presentations. I started by showing them how to use the basic tools and templates to design slides. Explained cool features like Morph for smooth slide changes and how to add videos and sound. Showed them how to turn boring bullet points into interesting graphics with SmartArt, and how to use Presenter View to see their notes while presenting. These skills will help them make their presentations clear and engaging.

In my Microsoft Excel class

In my Microsoft Excel class to the 7th grade students, I introduced students to essential features that enhance data organization and analysis. We explored the Sort & Filter tools, which help students arrange and pinpoint specific data points effortlessly. I demonstrated Conditional Formatting, allowing them to highlight key data trends visually. Lastly, I taught Data Validation techniques to ensure data accuracy and consistency, empowering students to maintain clean and reliable data sheets.

Designing reports in Microsoft Access

Designing reports in Microsoft Access involves several key steps to ensure they are both functional and visually appealing. The 8th grade students started by creating a new report using the Report Wizard, which guides you through selecting the data source and layout preferences. Once the basic structure is in place, they used the Design View to fine-tune the report by adding and arranging fields, headers, and footers. They also learned to utilise the various formatting options available to customize fonts, colours, and borders, enhancing readability and aesthetics. Finally, the students incorporated calculated fields and grouping levels to provide insightful summaries and organized data presentation.
