Teachers Day Celebration
Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm and gratitude. The programme commenced with the garlanding of the portrait of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, honouring his invaluable contribution to education.
A unique feature of the celebration was the Teachers’ Day Takeover. Former Head Boy Om Bendre of Std. X-B assumed the role of Headmaster, while former Head Girl Dhwani Mehta of Std. X-D served as Deputy Headmistress. Students of Std. X stepped into the roles of teachers and conducted classes for the day. This experiential activity helped them understand the responsibilities of teachers while developing leadership, discipline, patience and empathy.
A special radio programme, scripted by Mrs Kavita Kapoor, featured an engaging dialogue between a school bag and a blackboard. Presented by Shriyan Dhuri of Std. X-C and Pradnesh Parab of Std. VII-C, the dialogue creatively highlighted the multifaceted role of a teacher.
The students also presented the soulful song Guru Ne Dila Gnyan Rupi Vasa. The singers were Siara Saroj of Std. VI-A, Samarthya Gokarnakar and Kaivalya Gokarnakar of Std. VI-B, and Yogini Samant of Std. VIII-B. Saanvi Phatak of Std. IX-C accompanied them on the harmonium.
The Parent-Teacher Association organised a special programme for the teachers. Three inspiring Guru–Shishya stories were presented, beautifully portraying the bond between a teacher and a learner while emphasising the values of guidance, respect and gratitude. The parents also rendered the melodious song Hich Amuchi Prarthana.
The students presented Re Kshana, a play written by Dr Vidnyapana Gokarnakar and directed by former student Hrishikesh Desai. The play highlighted the significant role of teachers in nurturing students’ interest in academics and meaningfully reflected some of the key objectives of NEP 2020.
The results of the Inter-House Project Competition were also declared during the programme, and the winners were felicitated.
The celebration was a heartfelt tribute to teachers and beautifully reflected the spirit of learning, gratitude and mutual respect.
