CPR Awareness Session – 28th July 2026

A CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Awareness Session was conducted at Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School, Secondary Section, on 28th July 2026 for the students of Std. IX in the school hall.
The programme began with an introduction of the guest speakers by Supervisor Mrs. Vinitha Nair, followed by a warm floral welcome by Headmistress Mrs. Smita Biwalkar. The session was conducted by Dr. Surekha Dhurandhar, Dr. Nita Jagad, and Dr. Rajul Patel.
The doctors explained the importance of CPR and shared that CPR Day is observed on 21st July by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics in memory of Dr. Anand Shandilya, who contributed significantly to spreading awareness about this life-saving technique.
Through an engaging presentation, videos, and live demonstrations, the speakers explained what CPR is, why it is important, and how it should be performed correctly. They also highlighted common mistakes to be avoided during emergencies. A practical demonstration using a CPR mannequin made the session clear and easy to understand. Students actively participated and were given the opportunity to practise CPR under expert guidance.
The session proved to be informative and meaningful, equipping students with essential life-saving skills and confidence to handle emergency situations.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Smruti Mogrey, who expressed gratitude to the doctors and the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Mumbai, for conducting the session. She also thanked the Headmistress Madam Mrs. Smita Biwalkar, Deputy Headmistress Madam Mrs. Vasundhara Pandey, the staff and the students for their support and participation.
