Inauguration of Literary Club ‘Enrich’

‘Language is the doorway to imagination, expression and understanding.’

Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School, Secondary Section, inaugurated its Literary Club, ‘Enrich’, on 15 July 2026 in the school hall.

The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Dr Mrs Madhavi Gokhale, Headmistress Mrs Smita Biwalkar and Supervisor Mrs Vinitha Nair and Literary Club Advisor Mrs. Anuradha Phatak.

The literary presentations commenced with Vedant Mulye of Std. V narrating an inspiring story from the life of Gautam Buddha. The story conveyed the meaningful message that one should not be affected by the perceptions and opinions of others. Aayushi Walve of Std. VIII recited a motivational poem that encouraged students to remain determined and courageous during difficult times. Saanvi Phatak of Std. IX presented an extract from Sarojini Naidu’s poem, ‘In the Bazaars of Hyderabad’, vividly bringing the colourful and vibrant marketplace to life.

The Head Boy, Master Parth Adarkar, introduced the Chief Guest. As a token of appreciation, Dr Madhavi Gokhale was felicitated by the Headmistress.

In her address, Dr Madhavi Gokhale, a distinguished professor and accomplished speaker, emphasised the importance of developing listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. She encouraged students to communicate confidently, read widely and cultivate a lifelong love for language and literature. Her inspiring words motivated the students to appreciate the power of language as a means of expression, creativity and connection.

As part of the club’s activities, a letter-writing competition was organised for the students of Std. IX. The best letters, written by Head Girl Sthira Divekar and Yash Godbole, were read aloud and the students were felicitated for their commendable work.

An exhibition of creative book covers prepared by the students of Std. VI was also displayed. The exhibits included thoughtful reflections on their favourite books and showcased the students’ imagination, creativity and interest in reading.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Head Girl. The inauguration was successfully organised under the guidance of the Literary Club Advisors Mrs. Anuradha Phatak, Mrs. Rathi Pillai, Miss Khushi Kapadia and Miss Nikita Singh. The inauguration was engaging, enriching and meaningful, leaving the students with valuable insights and renewed enthusiasm for literary activities.
