Vanmahotsav Week Celebration

Vanmahotsav Week Celebration

The Nature Club of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School celebrated Vanmahotsav Week with a variety of engaging activities that encouraged students to connect with and care for nature.

The celebrations began with a Mother–Child Sapling Plantation activity. Students, along with their mothers, planted saplings such as tulsi, ova and rose in pots. The activity aimed to instil in children a sense of responsibility by encouraging them to nurture the plants as they grew.

The Plant Exhibition, put up by the students of Class IX, was another highlight of the week. Plants from the Nature Club garden, including hibiscus, tulsi, aloe vera, mint, adulsa and bryophyllum, were displayed. Students of Classes VII and VIII visited the exhibition, where the young presenters confidently shared interesting facts about the plants, their identifying features, common and scientific names and medicinal uses. The exhibition helped students appreciate the rich variety of plants around them and understand their importance in our daily lives.

A moving radio skit presented by the students left a lasting impression on the audience. Through a conversation between a hundred-year-old tree and human desire, the skit conveyed the message that while development is essential, it should never come at the cost of the environment. The programme concluded with a soulful song that traced the journey of a tiny seed into a majestic tree, celebrating the countless ways in which trees enrich and sustain life.

The week was a meaningful reminder that every small step taken towards protecting nature can make a big difference. The activities were organised under the guidance of the Nature Club advisers, Mrs Kavita Kapoor, Mrs Anjali Bhoj,  Mr Kalpesh Satra, Mrs Shashi Gupta, and Mr Pritam Purav.
